The first team to be inducted into
the Louisiana Fairs and Festivals Hall of Fame, Jimmy and
Betty Carnline were names "Fair Persons of the Year" in 1992 not
only for what they have done for L.A.F.F., but for what they have
done for the Sabine Parish Fair.
Associated with the Sabine Parish
Fair since 1981, they have served that association in various
capacities, with Betty having served as Internal Affairs Director
and Secretary-Treasurer, while Jim has served as President for the
past five years. When their fair building burned five weeks prior to
opening of the 82nd Annual Sabine Parish Fair the dynamic duo led
the effort and rebuilt the main exhibit building therefore
maintaining the continuity of the fair.
Betty, who owns Color-Rite Studios
and Fancy Free Creations in their hometown of Many, has been
associated with L.A.F.F. since 1985 and was elected
to the Board of Directors in 1987.
She has served on the Louisiana Tourism Development Commission, the
Quincentinary Commission, and the Louisiana Travel and Promotion
Association Board. In addition, she has served as the Service Unit
Chairperson for the Sabine Parish Salvation Army and as
International Affairs Coordinator for the La-Miss. District of Pilot
International.
Jimmy, owner of Carnline's Truck
Service and co-owner of the Beverage Exchange and Vice-President, of
J & J Distributors, AKA Nehi/RC Cola, Inc., in Many, has been
associated with L.A.F.F. since 1985 and is currently serving on the
Board of Directors.
Jimmy and Betty have two children and
four grandchildren and are members of the Trinity Baptist Church in
Many.
Jimmy and Betty Carnline are perfect
examples of hard work breeding success through affiliation and
friendships developed throughout the state of Louisiana. |
